Application - June 8th

This week we conversed about ways we can apply what we have learned of the "Jesus Perspective" in our lives today. The ideas that Everyone is Welcome, Nobody's Perfect, and Anything is Possible are necessary thought processes to establish and maintain healthy relationships.

We discussed that these relationships can be broken up into three broad categories: (1) Relationship with God, (2) Relationship with our Community of Faith (i.e. The Exchange, the Church, Bible Study, etc.), (3) Relationship with the Outside World.

Our discussion centered around our relationship with our community of faith and our relationship with the outside world. The focus was on things that we as a group, or as individuals could do to build relationships, care for each other, and live out the perspective of Jesus in our everyday lives. Below is a list of things that were mentioned:

In our community of faith:

1. Regular gatherings like "Sundae Nights on the Porch"
2. A fall retreat
3.Continual focus on meeting the needs, both large and small, of others in the group.
4. Ropes course at Camp Twin Lakes.
5. Women of Faith Conference-Atlanta
6. Golf outing

Outside our Community of Faith:

1. Community Service Projects (Brainstorm on out of the box ideas to show Christ's love to others)
2. Habitat for Humanity
3. Boys and Girls Club
4. Soup Kitchen
5. The Caring Place

Although we only scratched the surface in our discussion, we at least began to translate what we have talked about into tangible activities where we can grow and connect with others.

This coming Sunday, Shelly will begin a study focused on our relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It will be a time of exploration into the many facets of God to deepen our understanding of who God promises to be and what He asks of us.
